Narayan S. Tata, MD is a board certified/fellowship trained physician in Interventional Pain Management and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Tata earned his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School, North Chicago, Illinois.
He completed his internship at Northwestern University and residency at Northwestern University’s prestigious Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. He furthered his education to pursue a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at Georgia Pain Physicians/Emory University in Atlanta.
Dr. Tata utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach catered to each individual in the treatment of acute and chronic pain. His extensive training in interventional pain management and multidisciplinary approach to painful symptoms differentiates him from others. Dr. Tata’s special interests are in the areas of disorders of low back pain, neck pain and in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
He performs fluoroscopically guided injections into the spine to help alleviate back and neck pain. He also performs trigger point injections in the management of myofascial pain, joint and soft tissue injections of the upper and lower extremities and diagnostic studies such as Electromyography/ nerve conduction studies. He takes pride in performing high level interventional procedures such as discography of the cervical and lumbar spine, IDET’s, Nucleoplasty (percutaneous microdiscectomy), trial of spinal cord stimulators etc.
Dr. Tata is actively involved in research and patient education. He is an avid speaker for pharmaceutical companies and participates in research studies. He attends specialized training courses in the newest techniques in pain management and participates in continuing medical education. In his free time, Dr. Tata volunteers to perform sports physicals at local area high schools.
Dr. Tata is the medical director for Midwest Sports And Pain Specialists, P.C which was founded in October, 2005. He serves patients residing in Will, Dupage, and Kane counties.
